Replacing Stocky's Missing Purchase Order Workflows

Repeated problem · 90-day evidence

Who experiences it

Small Shopify merchants (especially retail with thousands of SKUs and many vendors/suppliers) who used Stocky and now need a budget-friendly replacement before the August shutdown; they don't want enterprise-grade complexity.

Workflow

Merchants create purchase orders per supplier from their product catalog, add shipping/duties/exchange fees to the PO, receive the order, and allocate those landed costs across items. They also filter and generate POs based on vendor/supplier rather than all products. After Stocky sunset, they are evaluating native Shopify POs, paid apps, custom builds, or 'hoping for the best'.

Possible direction

A lightweight Shopify app for supplier-specific PO generation with landed cost allocation and vendor filtering, sized for small stores leaving Stocky.

Current context

Shopify's native PO workflow doesn't offer landed cost allocation or vendor-specific generation, has no PO API, and historical POs can't be imported. Community recommendations list FyreTrail, Lokad, Infoplus, TraceLink, Cin7 Core, Sumtracker, Katana, Assisty, Stockful; several are enterprise-priced, and no app exactly replicates Stocky's small-store PO + landed cost workflow.
